Buxom Wanderlust Primer-Infused Blush Review

Welcome, jury!

Today we'll be discussing the Buxom Wanderlust Primer-Infused Blushes. Definitely an underrated product in the beauty world, in my humble opinion. (But seriously, I hadn't heard about these before trying them on a whim?!)

I feel like Buxom is one of those brands that just doesn't get a lot of buzz. But I am so glad I got my hands on these babies, because they have quickly become a staple in my makeup bag. A lot of you may already know, but I have loads of makeup (really needing a declutter), so when I consistently use something without switching it up, I know it's a holy grail for me.

I have four of the six available shades, so can someone say obsessed?? Let's get into it...

PACKAGING

When you pick these up off the shelf, you won't notice anything spectacular. They are encased in a shiny silver box with the logo slapped on in white... pretty boring if you ask me. Nothing that screams special or unique, and definitely not something to write home about. But remember what your momma told you? It's what's on the inside that counts - which is totally the case here.

Once you get passed the box, you get a snap-close case with the blush inside. The lid is clear so you can see the color of the blush right through, which is nice that you don't have to check the shade name every time. BUT - and a big but here - the case feels pretty cheap. Like maybe something ELF would sell for $2. When you're paying that high price tag for an item, you want to FEEL like your getting something for the money. Not just the product itself, but the packaging matters to consumers. I think Buxom is guilty, quite often, of presenting lack-luster packaging for there products and it honestly turns the customer off. (Could be one main reason that they aren't getting the hype as much as some other brands...)

Luckily, I can look past that and recognize that this blush is damn good!

PRODUCT

The product is a hidden gem, let's just be frank here. The shades are pigmented, yet soft and blendable and can be built up to the opacity that you'd like. I can appreciate this, because sometimes I can get a little too carried away with the blush.

These blushes stay all day and I think it's because this product is primer-infused. I I especially love the way it just melts into my skin, giving me this flush of color that is undeniably beautiful. Like I said earlier, there are six shades in this line. The four I have are Seychelles (bronze), Mykonos (peach), Ibiza (pink), and Dolly (absolute mauve). The missing two are Havana (rose) and Goa (berry) ~which I might be picking up soon, because the others are just too good!~

I use the shades Mykonos and Dolly most frequently, and if I had to pass on one, I would skip Seychelles, because it's too light of a bronze to show up on my medium tan skin. I like applying this to my cheeks using my ELF Pointed Powder Brush.

There is a scent to these and I would describe it as a light beachy smell (think vacation in the summertime). There is 3.5 g (or 0.12 oz) of product in the pan. I think this is a little smaller than most blushes on the market, but it also on the less expensive side of the "prestige" spectrum.

PRICE

The Buxom Wanderlust Primer-Infused Blushes retail for $23 (USD). Which in my opinion, is an ~ehhh~ price for this product. I genuinely feel that it would be worth the $23 IF the packaging felt sturdier and less flimsy.

I would price these at $18 (USD) if it were me, but the product inside is so insanely good, that I would more than likely repurchase if I ran out of a shade I often use.

VERDICT

(☆☆☆☆)

Unfortunately, I can't give it the five stars, because I am not overjoyed with the packaging (the unicarton OR the blush package itself). I feel that it's not worth the $23 that they charge, for this simple reason.

I think this blush is beginner-friendly and I would still recommend this product to anyone looking to try a new blush, because of how quickly it has become a staple for me and my makeup kit.
